At the 1968 Turin Motor Show, Lamborghini presented the P400S version of the Miura. The Miura was launched in 1966 and although received with great enthusiasm it had been slightly penalized by a series of flaws of youth. The P400S remedied the shortcomings of the first version, adding around twenty horsepower to the power of the 4-liter 12-cylinder engine. Aesthetically, the P400S was recognized by the chromed contours of the glass. Thanks to the improvements made, the P400S was a commercial success, and the 500th unit was sold in the fall of 1969. Production of the P400S ended in December 1971.
