Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, Bertone's young designer at the time, the 2000 Sprint was the first Alfa to feature the famous grille that integrated the four round headlights: an innovation that would go a long way. Built on the mechanical basis of the Spider with a 115 horsepower TI engine but 8 centimeters longer to allow enough room for the rear seats, the 2000 Sprint was more luxurious than sporty. Appearing at the 1960 Turin Motor Show, it was quickly replaced by the 2600 Sprint with the 2584cc 6-cylinder engine.
