In February 1968 Ferrari announced the 250 P5, equipped with a 12-cylinder engine derived from the 312 Formula 1. It was neither a competition car nor a new road going model, but a spectacular concept car designed by Pininfarina, on which styles and forms were experimented that would be transferred to the series production of the seventies.
