The 1600 series, which replaced the 1500, was presented in 1967. The range was complete and included different body configurations: 2-door sedan, fastback coupé, station wagon (known as Variant). Fastback bodywork was new. The car was equipped with a 1584cc engine and remained in production until 1973, with a facelift in 1970 and some versions equipped with injection (TE Fastback, E Variant) introduced in 1971.
