Announced at the 1965 London Motor Show, the DB6 was in logical continuity with the DB5 but the transformations were quite extensive. From a mechanical point of view, however, the engine did not vary, with its 266 horsepower and the 5-speed ZF manual transmission or the Borg Warner automatic transmission. For sportier buyers, the Vantage option, already present on the DB4, was preserved, with a series of engine modifications that gave an output of 325 horsepower at 5750 rpm.
