Introduced in 1946, the Daimler DE36 (sedan, limousine, drophead coupé and with numerous special bodies) was the last British car to be equipped with an 8-cylinder in-line engine, a 5460cc that allowed interesting performance. The DE36 shared some body parts with the DE27. The DE36 was also purchased by seven royal families (including the English one). Large and imposing, its weight was close to 3 tons. Around 200 units were built until 1953.
