Engineer of genius, Frederick Lanchester (1868-1946) involved his two younger brothers Franke and George in the production of cars starting from 1896. Lanchester cars were appreciated for the care of the realization, remaining very conservative as far as overall project was concerned. Having entered the orbit of Daimler in the early 1930s, the Lanchester ended up producing variants of the small Daimlers, until closing in 1956, with the curious Sprite not passing the pre-series stage.
