For 1999 Minardi renewed the agreement with Cosworth for the supply of Ford Zetec-R V10 engines, which benefited during the season of three evolutions. Cesare Fiorio was chosen as sporting director. Marc Gené and Luca Badoer were the drivers throughout the year (with Sarrazin replacing Badoer only in Brazil). Minardi managed to grab a point in the final standings, thanks to Gené's 6th place at the European GP, at the end of the season. Badoer's best result was an 8th place in Imola.
