Although specializing in racing cars construction with the OSCA brand, the Maserati bros also built some road cars, the most famous of which is the 1600GT coupe with the 1598cc version of the 140 horsepower OSCA-Fiat engine. The chassis derived from Fiat production but advanced solutions were introduced, such as four disc brakes and a six-speed gearbox supplied as an option. The GT coached by Zagato is one of the best known, but there were other interpretations by other coachbuilders, such as Fissore and Vignale.
