In 1969 the Porsche 911 benefited from a significant series of changes, including a lengthening of the wheelbase. The E version (Einspritzung, Injection) was also introduced, with a 901/09 engine of 140 horsepower at 6500 rpm. The mechanical injection system was from Bosch. From 1970 the 2195cc 911/01 engine was mounted, which gave 155 HP; in 1972 the power increased to 165 HP with the 911/52 engine. The 911E was available with coupé and Targa bodywork until 1973.
