Launched in 1972, the Gran Torino owes its popularity more to the Starsky & Hutch series than to its performance. The car experienced a resurgence of popularity in 2008 thanks to the eponymous film made by Clint Eastwood. After the disappearance of the Fairlane in 1970, Ford decided to completely rethink the model: the muscle cars had gained in volume and the Torino did not escape this trend. It then became the Gran Torino and the customer had the choice between three Torino, Gran Torino and Gran Torino Sport versions and two body types: Sports Roof (fastback) and Sports Coupé (hard top). It was possible, like, engines, to choose between two 351ci, a 400ci and the famous 429ci reduced to 208 horsepower. The sportiest version was the one equipped with the 248 horsepower V8 351ci (5766cc). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h took place in 8.6 seconds and the top speed was 205 km / h.
