Among the many versions and bodies, the 8C 2300 also had a configuration destined for the Grand Prix, the one that after the victory at the Italian GP in 1931 was called 8C 2300 Monza. The chassis was shortened and a whole series of improvements were studied for the 2336cc 6-cylinder engine. From the end of 1932 the development of the Monza was carried out by Scuderia Ferrari after Alfa's decision to withdraw from racing. The Scuderia also modified some engines, which were increased to 2556cc, waiting to field the ex-Works Type B. A Monza, transformed into a Sport, won the 1934 Mille Miglia with the Varzi / Bignami crew.
