With the G60, Volkswagen had demonstrated that the Corrado had all it takes to perform well among the GTs. However, there remained a further step to take to make the car truly complete: fitting a 6-cylinder. With the V6, the Wolfsburg coupé became a true thoroughbred sports car. His reign, however, was short-lived, only four years. The 2861cc 12-valve V6 engine developed 190 HP at 4200 rpm, with very respectable performance: from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 232 km/h.
