The second car of the Fittipaldi team, the FD04, debuted in 1976. It was a rather conventional single-seater, equipped with a Ford Cosworth engine and Hewland gearbox. Emerson Fittipaldi obtained three sixth places in 1976, managing to conquer two fourth places and a fifth place in 1977. The car was replaced by the F5. Another Brazilian, Ingo Hoffman, also drove the FD04.
