Designed in view of some regulations that were subsequently revised, the Surtees TS14 found itself overweight; to this was added the gradual departure of Firestone from F1, for whose tires the car was designed. The TS14 debuted at the 1972 Italian GP, driven by John Surtees, in its last race in F1. In 1973 an evolution version was perfected, the TS14A, less heavy. Carlos Pace was the driver who achieved the best results. Mike Hailwood and Jochen Mass also piloted the TS14.
