Based on a totally new monocoque, lower and wider than that of the 741 of 1974, the March 751 of 1975 was a simple and manageable car even by private teams. Equipped with the usual Cosworth V8 engine and Hewland gearbox, the 751 proved to be quite competitive, allowing Vittorio Brambilla to win in Austria. The factory team was joined by Roger Penske's team, who modified the 751 at the end of the season, bringing it into the race as Penske PC3. Vittorio Brambilla, Mark Donohue, Lella Lombardi and Hans Stuck piloted the March 751.
