BRM faced the 1968 season with different cars: the P83, the P126, the P133 and the P138. If the P126 was commissioned to Len Terry (Design Auto), the P133 was built at the BRM headquarters in Bourne. Equipped with the V12 engine and Hewland transmission, the P133 made its first appearance at the Race of Champions at Brands Hatch (not valid for the world championship), where Pedro Rodriguez finished second. During the world season, Rodriguez achieved several good placings with the P133, including a second place in Belgium and two third places in the Netherlands and Canada.
