The Lamborghini 350 GTV was the first car produced by the house of Sant'Agata Bolognese. Lamborghini wanted something capable of outclassing Ferrari, Jaguar and Aston Martin and for the engine they turned to Giotto Bizzarrini, who designed a 3.5-litre V12 with purely racing characteristics: 360hp at 8000 rpm, the maximum an engine could give at the time not supercharged. The line of the car was designed by Franco Scaglione, on the chassis designed by Gian Paolo Dallara and built by Neri and Bonacini. The car was presented at the 1963 Turin Motor Show and was certainly not noticed by everyone. But soon things were destined to change in the history of motoring, with the arrival of the 350 GT, the 400 GT and then the revolutionary Miura.
