The 911S, an even more powerful version of the 911, was presented in August 1966. It was the first 911 to have Fuchs forged aluminum wheels, destined to become one of the hallmarks of Porsche style. The power of the S went from 130 to 160 horsepower at 6,600 rpm thanks to a new camshaft, larger valves and other mechanical modifications. The displacement remained 2000cc. The 911S was distinguished by the absence of bumper bolts. The car also had a long racing career, first in the basic 2000cc version, then with larger and more elaborate engines.
