The "B" series of Ferrari Formula 1 cars had initially brought good results in 1970, but in the following seasons the Scuderia fell into a serious technical crisis. At the end of 1972 the B3 was developed which was a multi-faceted single-seater. The car that debuted in 1973 was built on a monocoque (made in England for the first time) with a 12-cylinder boxer engine producing around 485hp at 12,500 rpm. During the season the car was modified several times, showing a certain competitiveness at the end of the year. The 1974 B3 was designed on this basis and finally allowed Ferrari to return to high levels.
