Only one year after the launch of the Spider 1600, it was necessary to replace it to follow the evolution of the rest of the range, which in the meantime had seen the debut of the new engine called 1750 to recall the famous car of the thirties, despite the fact that it was a 1800cc. At the beginning of 1968, the 1750 Spider Veloce was presented, which retained the elegant line of the 1600s of 1966-67. The real novelty was instead proposed at the 1969 Turin Motor Show, when the car's elongated tail was shortened by 13 centimeters, with the rest of the bodywork receiving other stylistic adaptations.
