Intended to be the successor of the Ghibli, the Maserati Khamsin was presented in 1972. Designed by Marcello Gandini, it was the first Maserati by Bertone. Production ended in 1982, the car being developed during the Citroën era for those customers who wanted a traditional front-engined GT car. No doubt the less conventional Bora was more advanced. Whatever, the Khamsin was a beautiful car, equipped with a powerful 4.9 litres engine carried over from the Ghibli SS.
