Sports version of the Cortina, the GT (model 118E) was equipped with the same 1498cc 4-cylinder engine as the Super, but with a Weber carburetor thanks to which power reached 83.5 horsepower. Available in 2- and 4-door bodywork, the GT had front disc brakes as standard. The interior was more luxurious than the standard Cortinas. From 1964 automatic transmission was offered as an option. The GT went out of production in 1966 after about 77,000 units built.
