Two years after Austin, in 1966 Morris also put the 1800, a 4-door sedan equipped with the 1798cc in-line 4-cylinder engine in its catalog. Power steering was available from September 1967; automatic transmission was also offered as an option. The second series was marketed in May 1968, with a more powerful engine, larger wheels and from October 1968 the 1800S was presented, with a twin carburetor engine and 95 horsepower. Mechanical improvements were introduced with the third series: more precise transmission, ground handbrake and a more refined interior. Production ceased in 1975 after 95,271 units were built.
