The Lotus Esprit certainly did not lack originality: designed by Giugiaro who thought for her a completely flat windshield ("so much is transparent", he said at the time of its presentation in 1975), the English car went down in history for its original line and for his rather flashy style. Those who thought that the Porsche 911 was too "trivial" could choose the Esprit that stood as its natural competitor. It was equipped with various engines and produced in three series until 1987. Sadly famous for its poor assembly quality, the Esprit also gained stardom for being the James Bond car in 1977 and again in 1983.
Welly, which is based in Hong Kong, began producing die-cast toy vehicles in 1979. The brand was characterized by a very varied range with different scales, but from the early 2000s it also began to deal with models for the collector market, always at various scales.
