For the 1983 Formula 1 season, Scuderia Ferrari presented a much modified version of the 126 C2 that had raced during 1982. The car named 126 C2B, was deeply modified with a totally different shape and an uprated engine. The car proved to be competitive, allowing Patrick Tambay to win the San Marino GP at Imola and René Arnoux to win the Canadian GP. The 126 C2B was replaced by the totally new 126 C3 during the season.
