The Horizon replaced the Simca 1100, of which it took up the basic concept. The first phase of this model began in 1978 and ended in 1982, with various versions, including some rather luxurious, such as the SX (September 1978), with a 1442cc 83hp engine, automatic transmission, speed controller, on-board computer. , velvet interior, the Jubilée (March 1979) with the finishes of the SX, plus two-tone finish and aluminum wheels) or the Premium (July 1982), with a 1592cc engine and 90 horsepower. The second series was launched in 1983 and remained in production until 1985. The Horizon was undoubtedly one of the best compact cars of its generation, however overshadowed by the commercial policy of the PSA group which favored the Peugeot brand.
