Under the IFA brand, from 1948 to 1956, some cars were produced that were inspired by the DKW concept, ie two-stroke engine and front-wheel drive, built in East Germany in the factories of Zwickau and Eisenach. The brand was then absorbed by Wartburg. The F8, with a 2-cylinder engine, was presented in 1949 in a sedan (also with wood finish) and convertible configuration. Production of the F8 ceased in 1955, while in the meantime the more modern 3-cylinder F9 was released.
