Like the rival Ford Capri, the second generation of the Opel Manta appealed to a wider clientele than the first series. Launched in 1975, the Manta B was offered in an extremely varied series of engines, starting with the small 1200cc 60hp, up to the very rare 3-liter, 176hp inline 6 cylinder. Between the two extremes, there were the 1300, 1600, 1800, 1900 and 2000cc engines ranging from 75 to 144 horsepower. The sports versions (Manta 400, GT / E and GSI) remain the most interesting today; a 400 in good condition is now valued at around 55,000 euros. The Manta B went out of production in 1988.
