In 1967 the range of Simca 1300 and 1500 sedans was renewed and the two versions took the name 1301 and 1501. The 1301 was equipped with the usual 1290cc 4-cylinder engine already seen on the 1300. The new car had a longer hood and a trunk more spacious. It was the last Simca designed in the pre-Chrysler period. The 1301 went out of production in 1976 after 637,000 units were built.
