With the arrival of the eighth generation in 2019, the Corvette is the oldest American sports car still in production. A legend that began in 1953, when Chevrolet presented an elegant but also gritty spyder with excellent finishes and equipped with an in-line 6-cylinder engine. The first series remained in production until 1955, the year in which a new V8 with carburettors was adopted, until 1963. From 1957 to 1963, the year of the end of production of the first series, an injection version was also available. Three restylings were carried out in 1956, 1958 and 1959.
