After all, this was how E.L. Cord had imagined and conceived it for the Duesemberg brothers. The latter had built a solid reputation starting from 1914 with their 4 and then 8 cylinder racing engines but the famous twin cam Duesenberg J was built by Lycoming, another member of the Cord group. Only 480 of the series were produced for ten years, compared to over 600 Model A from 1928 to 1928. Today a J can reach considerable prices and several Model Js with Murphy and LaGrande bodies have recently been auctioned for between 2.6 and 3.3 million EUR.
