Aggressive and powerful, the Charger, unveiled in 1966, was Dodge's first muscle car. With a line perhaps not too original (it reminded a bit of the AMC Rambler Marlin), the Charger had its own strength in the mechanics: all the cars were equipped with V8s, the most powerful of which (425 Hemi) developed 425 horsepower. and was mounted on only 468 specimens, while the most normal engine was 318ci with 230 horsepower. With a Charger, David Pearson won the NASCAR championship in 1966.
