If the first Boss was Ford's direct response to tuner Carroll Shelby who had transformed the Mustang into a Cobra, the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 proposed a completely different philosophy. The Boss 302 was based on the fifth generation of the Mustang. Produced until 2013, the car was equipped with the 4951cc V8 and 444 horsepower. A version with even more extreme characteristics was also marketed, called Laguna Seca.
