With the initiative of three Texan specialists Gary Laughlin, Jim Hall and Carroll Shelby, coachbuilder Sergio Scaglietti was commissioned to develop a berlinetta on a Chevrolet Corvette chassis intended to compete with the Ferrari 250 GT SWB. In addition to Enzo Ferrari's discontent, the car did not even get the interest of Chevrolet. In two years, three prototypes were prepared and then the project was shelved.
