MATRIX SCALE MODELS - ASTON MARTIN - DB2-4 GHIA SUPERSONIC 1954

2 + 2 version of the DB4, the DB4-2 had a fairly complex development. It was introduced in 1953 with a 2580cc engine which was the same that equipped the DB2 coupe, but the greater weight was a problem. A 3000cc and 140 horsepower engine restored the balance. The first series of the DB4-2 went out of production in 1955 after 565 copies produced, of which about seventy in the cabriolet version. The second series, in production since 1956, retained the 3-liter engine and had a slightly more angular bodywork; on the last examples of the MkII the power rose to 165 horsepower. About 200 DB4-2 were built until 1957, when the third series was introduced, still with the 3-liter engine but with numerous mechanical improvements, which followed one another until the end of production, which took place in 1959.
