The range of Ferrari 250 GT road cars was enriched in 1957 with a series of cabriolets designed by Pinin Farina around the very famous 3-liter V12 engine. On these cars, the Turin bodywork was able to introduce stylistic elements of the highest level, which contributed decisively to making the Ferrari name even more famous in the world. The first series was marketed from the second half of 1957, but was preceded by a number of experimental specimens, including the first, presented at the Geneva Motor Show that same year.
