In 1993 the Sultan of Brunei, a well-known Ferrari collector, commissioned a special version of the 456 from Pininfarina. Equipped with a five-door body, the 456 Venice Shooting Brake was built in 6 units, all for the Sultan. At the beginning of the nineties the line was quite original, with a wide pillar at the height of the rear doors and the windows that enveloped the entire tail as on the Porsche 928 H50 of 1987 and later on the Saab 9-5 Estate of 1999, the Peugeot 407 SW and Mercedes ML. The engine was that of the base model, that is a 5.5-liter V12 and 440hp. The front and rear lights echoed the lines of the standard 456, while the passenger compartment was completely modified according to the client's needs.
