It was from this concept car that the entire road going Dino dynasty was born. On chassis 0840, belonging to a Dino 206P competition, Pininfarina designed a bodywork with extraordinarily fluid and harmonious shapes. Finished in time for the 1965 Paris Motor Show, the Dino Berlinetta Speciale prototype achieved widespread acclaim from the public and the press. Upon the death of Giovanni Battista Pinin Farina, the Le Mans circuit decided to name the square in front of the 24 Hours museum after him. Pinin Farina's son, Sergio, with the agreement of Enzo Ferrari, decided to donate the car to the museum, which remained in the ACO premises until 2017, when it was sold during the Artcurial auction to Rétromobile, for finance the purchase of other cars.
The Dino Sperimentale is a unique example that has never been painted yellow. However, we wanted to create a small series (only 24 examples) in this equally iconic color for Ferrari, imagining what it would have been like if it had received this particular colour. The result seems decidedly fascinating to us!
This brand was born at the end of 2020 as a Carmodel exclusive. The range, of 1:18 scale resin models, includes classic sports cars, such as Alfa Romeo and Ferrari, but also concept cars and rare versions from coachbuilders such as Pininfarina, Vignale or Zagato. Some "excursions" in more recent periods include unreleased cars in 1:18 such as the Autobianchi A112 Abarth VII Serie, whose development ended in 2024.
