A true sportscar, the Maserati Bora was presented in 1971, with a 4719cc 8-cylinder engine with 310 horsepower. At that time Maserati was thinking mainly of the American market, which however became increasingly complicated especially for the manufacturers of sports cars because of the anti-pollution regulations. The Bora was produced in 570 specimens around until 1980 and is today a rather rare and highly sought after car. In 1973 a Group 4 competition version was developed but unfortunately the project did not follow due to political and bureaucratic problems.
