The Innocenti 950 was built on the basis of the Austin Healey Sprite, with specific and even more elegant bodywork, designed by Tom Tjaarda who worked for Ghia. The quality of construction and equipment were excellent for the time, even compared to the Sprite. The soft top, for example, was double-layered and easy to open and close. At first, in 1960, the car was equipped with a 43 horsepower 950cc engine, certainly not a sporty one. The 58 horsepower 1100cc, adopted in 1963, brought a little more punch.
