R’s comeback: in March 2016 Porsche resumed the 911 R spirit; the 911 R was a competition car that was produced in a very limited run back in 1967. The new 911 R was conceived to give modern enthusiasts a very light car, without all those luxury gimmicks adding weight. The car was fitted with the 4.0 litre engine giving some 500 bhp. The R completed the wide 911 range, whose most powerful model was the road going Turbo S (580 bhp). The power of the competition 911 RSR, sold to racing privateers, didn’t exceed the 460 bhp out of regulation limits.
