For the 1998 F1 season Eddie Jordan's team secured the supply of the newly developed Mugen Honda V10 engines. As for the drivers, Ralf Schumacher was confirmed, while Damon Hill arrived. The Jordan-Mugen 198 proved to be quite competitive even if on some tracks the results were quite modest. Development continued with even radical interventions throughout the season. Hill managed to win a GP, in Spa, finishing in sixth place in the final classification; Schumacher was instead tenth, and obtained a second place as best result, again at Spa. Jordan occupied the fourth position in the constructors' standings, behind McLaren, Ferrari and Williams.
