The Alpine team faced the F.1 2022 season after a radical restructuring. Marcin Budkowski, Rémi Taffin and Alain Prost, who represented the ancien régime of the Renault F1 Team, were replaced by Otmar Szafnauer (team principal) and Bruno Famin (executive director). On the other hand, there was no change in terms of the drivers, with Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon. Third driver is Oscar Piastri. With Pat Fry and Matt Harman in the role of technical directors, the new A522 powered by Renault E-Tech RE22 aims to improve the result of 2021, in which the Alpine team achieved one victory, two podiums and one fastest lap.
