After eight years of production, the Kadett B was replaced by the C series in August 1973. The car was conceived to be a true "world car". Based on the mechanics of the B, the Kadett C was offered in various body configurations, including a classic 2 and 4-door sedan, with 4-cylinder engines of 993 (40 horsepower) and 1196cc (52 horsepower) and different configurations (L, SR, etc.). An S version with 60 horsepower was also available for the 1196cc engine.
