MINICHAMPS - LAMBORGHINI - URRACO 1974

On the strength of the success of the models of the late sixties, Lamborghini decided to compete with Ferrari also in the Dino market segment. The Urraco was the Miura's younger sister, albeit mechanically less refined: the front and rear suspension was MacPherson and the transverse mounted engine was a 2463cc 220 horsepower V8. Also in this configuration, the Urraco (P250) was more powerful than the Dino and superior in terms of performance. However, the development of the Urraco took too long and production problems were highlighted. The three-liter version with 265 horsepower (P300) proved difficult to place on the market, with customers who did not perceive it as a "real" Lamborghini and too eccentric to attract Porsche customers, for example. The 2-liter version (P200) with 182 horsepower was then created to evade the heavy taxation present in Italy. Production of the Urraco ceased in 1979.
