This generation of Chevrolet Bel air, marketed since 1955, abandoned the rounded shapes of the previous family to adopt a style perhaps more sophisticated and more in line with the fashion of the times. The 1955 Bel Air inaugurated one of the most legendary American V8s, the 162-horsepower 4.3-liter, which became 180 with the Power Pack option (double-barrel carburetors and two exhaust outlets). This model went out of production in 1957.
