At the 1955 Paris Motor Show, Ferrari presented a new advanced chassis, intended to replace the 375 coupé. From that frame a completely new GT would be born, which would be named 410 Superamerica, a revolutionary car with a 5-liter engine, only for selected customers. In the following years a whole series of GTs based on that chassis would be built, with bodywork by Pinin Farina but also by other top coachbuilders such as Ghia and Boano. The cars could come with a long wheelbase (2800mm) or a short wheelbase (2600mm) and many of these received extremely original bodies, such as that of Pinin Farina on the 410 Superfast of the Paris Motor Show in 1956 or that of Ghia with extreme lines sold to an American customer.
