The Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight received a completely new bodywork in 1959, in line with the fashions of the moment. The car was still based on the traditional perimeter chassis that characterized the production of Oldsmobile, while all other General Motors brands, such as Cadillac and Chevrolet, used the new central cross chassis.
