With its extremely classic line, the Peugeot 604, presented in 1975, represented the top-of-the-range French sedan for several years. The engine was initially the PRV derived from the collaboration with Peugeot and Volvo, a 2664cc V6 that developed 136 horsepower. Other versions followed, including a GTi, equipped with a 2849cc engine and 155 horsepower. In 1979 the coachbuilder Heuliez also presented a limousine version of the 604, much appreciated by the heads of state. The Peugeot 604 was discontinued in 1986.
